August 20: VegFest

Enjoy music, movement, lifestyle presentations, mindfulness activities, and delicious vegetarian and vegan cuisine at VegFest! DJ Taz Rashid brings a high vibrational energy to our main stage all day long, while local fitness and wellness studios lead yoga (BYO mat), belly dancing, tai chi and mindfulness classes. Experts will lead discussions and demos, including a sound bath demo, restorative meditation sessions, and more. Savor dishes from Tamales, Poke Burrito, and Michael’s, plus a cooking demo from new Ravinia District vegan bakery, The Chunky Scone! Check out the full schedule of events:

Main Stage

11 AM - 7 PM: DJ Taz Rashid

11 AM - 12 PM: Stretch out with Bar Restore with The Bar Method – combining elements of classic Bar Method class with more emphasis on stretching to offer a strength training workout with a chance to explore flexibility, reduce muscle tension and calm the mind. 

12 PM - 1 PM:  Awaken your soul with a free Sound Bath session with The Rebel Human and DJ Taz Rashid amplifying the sound.

1 PM - 2 PM: Enjoy Tai Chi and Qigong classes with Temple of Kung Fu, as they teach skills to develop mind, body and spirit to help unleash the warrior within.

 2 PM - 3 PM: Join in on a peaceful, magical, mystifying practice of YinFlow that seasoned instructor Rebecca Braun brings.

3 PM - 4 PM: Pilates with Body Evolve to help re-train bodies to move in safe, more efficient patterns of motion.

4 PM - 5 PM: Indulge in Vinyasa Flow Happy Hour with Buddha Warrior for your mind, body and spirit.

5 PM - 6 PM: Enjoy energizing belly dancing with Kremie Chroman. Take a dance journey towards light, love, confidence and POWER!

6 PM - 7 PM: DJ Taz Rashid music and vibe close out.

Experiential Stage

11 AM - 12 PM: A mindful meditation exploring postures to increase flexibility to grow your chi with Pilates Center of the North Shore

12 PM - 1 PM: Therapeutic Kneads presents a hands on workshop: making your own essential oil recipes for the body, mind and soul.

1 PM - 2 PM: Rebel Human presents a practical practice session to educate people on how to manage their nervous system.

2 PM - 3 PM: Board-certified nutritionist Carol D’Anca, presenting the four zones for sustainable health to extend longevity.

3 PM - 4 PM: Chef Oscar from Highland Park’s resident vegan bakery The Chunky Scone doing a delightful vegan baking demo.

4 PM - 5 PM: Carol D’Anca presenting on how to make informed decisions on the vegan/vegetarian lifestyle.

5 PM - 6 PM:  Meditative spin with Spin Studio to move the body and mind.
