Ravinia District Cookie & Cocoa Crawl

The Ravinia District of Highland Park will host its annual Cookie & Cocoa Crawl on Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 11AM – 1 PM. This year, the District is thrilled to present a very special and exciting performance for all who attend. In partnership with Disney’s “The Lion King”, Darian Sanders (Simba) and Khalifa White (Nala) will perform two songs from Disney’s The Lion King, followed by acts by Cabaret ZaZou presents “Luminaire” from 11 AM - 12 PM.

Mayor Nancy Rotering and the Highland Park City Council will welcome the community to this fantastic event, followed by an introduction by Lou Raizin, President of Broadway in Chicago.  Attendees are encouraged to bundle up as this event will be held outdoors on Dean Avenue, between Roger Williams and St. Johns Avenues.  In case of inclement weather, the performance will be moved indoors to Ravinia School, located a block away.

Post-performance, children accompanied by an adult will take part in the annual Cookie & Cocoa Crawl of participating businesses throughout the District. Kids will collect festive cookies while they shop local businesses, walk the streets and explore the festival holiday decorations installed throughout the District, with delicious hot cocoa available to all. A DJ will be spinning holiday tunes on stage from 12 - 1 PM.

Gilbert Orthodontics will hand out bags to children to collect individually-wrapped homemade cookies from some of Highland Park’s favorite bakeries including The Chunky Scone, Sugarcoated and Sunset Foods. Participating businesses include BWB Shakes, The Chunky Scone, Dana Reed Designs, Ency Organics, Field Violin, Just Wellness, Maddie’s Market, Mosewood Closets, PT Squared, Ravinia Barber Shop, Ravinia Brewing Company, Sally’s Nuts, Taylor Reese, Twigs & Cotton, Wayne’s Cleaners and Yana’s Barbershop.

“We’re pleased to be bringing the Cookie and Cocoa Crawl back to Ravinia District this season, and are both delighted and appreciative to have the added bonus of the Disney and Cabaret Zazou performances as a wonderful way to spread joy,” says Katie Wiswald, Chair of the Ravinia Business District Association and Vice President at Highland Park Bank & Trust. “We are so proud of how the Ravinia Business District has come alive in every way and it’s events like this that energize our community to come together to celebrate and support our local businesses.”

Attendees are encouraged to visit one of the many local restaurants and specialty shops offering specials and promotions for a warm up or lunch.
