Sept. 9: Vintage Car Show

The Vintage Car Show returns to The Lot in Downtown Highland Park on Saturday, September 9, from 12-4 PM.  Up to 100 vehicles will be displayed at the City’s alfresco entertainment space at 525 Central Avenue (entrance at St. Johns and Park Avenues). This free, all-ages event offers a full day of perusing the variety of vintage cars while enjoying live music, bites, and beverages.

Attendees can expect classic cars ranging from vintage models to unique classics, local Highland Park commercial vehicles, muscle cars, hot rods, and more, dating from 1907 to 1981. Highlights will include the iconic Bat Mobile, Bat Cycle, and Scooby Dooby Doo Van, onsite courtesy of the Klairmont Kollections Automotive Museum. These gorgeous vehicles will create great photo opportunities for the young and young at heart!

Along with a full line-up of classic, custom, and collective cars, entertainment for the day will include classic sounds of various decades, with live music by The Wayouts (12-1:45 PM) and The Four C Notes (2-4 PM). Attendees can vote for the “Best of the Show” award from 12-3 PM. The winner will be announced from the stage at 3:30 PM.

 

ABOUT THE LOT

The Lot is the City of Highland Park’s alfresco dining and entertainment space at 525 Central Ave. at the intersection of St. Johns and Central Avenues in the heart of downtown Highland Park. From specialty markets to unique dining, family-friendly entertainment, weekend concerts, and food fests, there’s something for everyone this season at The Lot.

Ample parking surrounds the Lot, including nearby surface lots, a two-level parking deck south of Central on First St. and St. Johns, and the Port Clinton parking garage. Guests are encouraged to take the Metra, which stops one block south of The Lot, or use non-motorized transportation. Bike racks are available at The Lot and in the immediate vicinity. Because The Lot is not conducive to animals, attendees must refrain from bringing pets to events at The Lot.
